Gum Olibanum is an aromatic resin that exudes specifically from the trunks of the trees Boswellia in the family Burseraceae specie that are natural to Ethiopia, Oman, Somalia and Sudan.
Common names for the gum include Loban, Olibanum, Frankincense, lubban, encens, kadidlo, hojary, Aromatine derva, dhoop, oliban.
Gum Olibanum is available in small tears or lumps of white-yellowish or yellow-reddish color, with a light scent. Resin from each is available in various grades, which depend on the time of harvesting.
