The economy of the Sudan is highly dependent on the agricultural sector, as nearly 65 percent of its population is engaged in agriculture, which is

About 175 million feddans, equivalent to 73.5 million hectares, are suitable for agriculture and the average area sown is approximately 26 million hectares.
